Progress
Quilting progress.....having accepted the fact that I cannot stitch straight lines, I decided to stipple the background around the applique shapes. Now I am happy with this quilt. No binding on yet - that will come later.

what I'm working on
I have one quilt on the frame and another one in the works on my design wall.
This quilt is on my frame and its not going so well. I thought I would put a cross hatch design in the outer border behind the applique pieces but it has turned out really ugly. My lines are so wobbly! What a mess!
I've decided to change the quilting around the applique to something else - not sure what yet. For now all I see ahead of me is the job of picking out all those stitches. That's going to take forever.
On my design wall, this little dresden plate project is going very well.
Nothing sewn together yet, but I am having a lot of fun making all these little wedges.

Baby Quilts
I have been busy since my last blog post. The Jubilee quilt is quilted, washed and given to my daughter. Also finished are two more little baby quilts ready for binding.
The nursery for our granddaughter is starting to come together - just 4 weeks to go until she is due to arrive! A few more things need to be put in place but you can see the pinwheel quilt is already there on the crib waiting for her.

Ready for Quilting and Binding
Jubilee quilt top is finished and ready to be loaded on to my frame for quilting. I am going to do a simple panto and, once the binding is on, give it a good run through the washing machine. For the first time I used spray starch when cutting and piecing this quilt and it kinda feels like a thin sheet of cardboard.....maybe I'll use less starch next time.....or better yet - none at all. With three extra blocks and some scraps of fabric that were left over I've pieced a center panel for the backing of this quilt.
I've got two baby quilts ready for binding and a third one is a work in progress on my design wall.

three projects keeping me busy
Right now I am happily working on three quilt projects all at the same time.
The first one is this quilt currently on my design wall. It is a pattern called "Jubilee" by The Pattern Basket. I love how easy the blocks come together but, unfortunately, it is on hold right now because I ran out of background fabric for the sashing and border. I am waitng for more to arrive from The Fat Quarter Shop (my favorite online shop).
The second one is this little quilt which I am quilting using my sewing machine's embroidery module. I have done a couple of quilts this way and I really like being able to set up the embroidery hoop and then go over to my cutting table to work on something else while the machine stitches away. The pretty little feather wreath pattern is from Diane Gaudynski's "Quilting Whimsy" embroidery collection.
And the third project is a baby quilt I am making with Paris Flea Market fabric by 3 Sisters. It is still in its early stages....so far, just the start of star blocks and flying geese.
